The !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! is this Sunday, June 17th at 6:00 PM EDT. If you’d like to learn more about the race or !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , click the link and get all the info. Or, if you’ve already read the plan but haven’t signed up yet, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .
If you’re not racing with us, many of us stream the races on twitch, the links for which will be posted on race day. A list of streamers from the previous round can be found !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!
Also, instead of using parties or gamechat, we are going to be using the Oppositelock Racing/Digital Burnouts Discord to communicate during the races. If for some reason we are not using the app or it fails, we will be using gamechat to communicate, and hoping for the best. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!
WE ARE LESS THAN ONE WEEK OUT. GET. HYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYPED!
BUILD RULES HAVE BEEN FINALIZED! !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . Any car that has had it’s build changed is highlighted in yellow on the build sheet, and NEARLY EVERY CAR HAS HAD ITS BUILD CHANGED, so read through the sheet carefully. Also, the required number of pit stops has been finalized. There will be 3 required pit stops for Sports-Proto, and 4 for GT cars.
Votes are in! The race will be held this Sunday, the 17th, at 6 PM EDT . The most popular option for weather was by far real world conditions yet again. So during testing be sure to put in some rain laps just in case the weather in France on the 17th is bad. Right now there is a 15% chance of light rain. I’ll announce the actual conditions for the race an hour before the start based on the weather forecasts.
I had mentioned some slight rules changes to the original format we do in the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . There are few more I want to make. Firstly, dirty laps will be equivalent to clean laps in qualifying. I WANT TO BE CLEAR, THIS DOES NOT MEAN YOU GET TO IGNORE TRACK LIMITS. The track limits at Le Mans are harsh to say the least. I only had one clean lap in my practice and BoP sessions. Because of this, I’m more concerned about your overall pace rather than your ability to run a clean lap. I expect that everyone will not be track cutting for the sake of competition. Also, if you’re deliberately track cutting trying to get an advantage, you have the completely wrong idea of what this race is about. Do not make me regret doing this.
Secondly, it is very likely that we will have more than 24 people and need two lobbies. Here is the plan on how a multiple lobby situation will be handled. Two qualifying and race lobbies will exist, hosted by to be determined people based on who is assigned to what lobby based on qualifying. All drivers will be in one voice channel on Discord for the entirety of qualifying. Once qualifying is finished, times will be sorted and drivers will be split into different lobbies based on lap time. The amount of people in each lobby will vary based on the total amount of drivers. If there are less than 8 cars in one class, all of those cars will be in one lobby. After lobby splits are finished, the second lobby will move to a different voice channel and invites will be sent out accordingly. For the second lobby, the lobby host will act as race director. After this, the races will start as quickly as possible.
Third, here is a contingency plan for the event of the pit lane glitch that leads to invisible cars . The race will start under the assumption that this will not happen, so sim damage will be on and pit stops are required. If it is 100% confirmed that cars are turning invisible after pitting, the race will be red flagged immediately and all cars will stop on track. Positions will be recorded, and we will quit out and return to the lobby. Damage will be set to cosmetic and pit stops will no longer be required. REMEMBER TO SET YOUR PERSONAL SETTING TO COSMETIC. After this, the race will resume with a shorter lap length to reflect the amount of the race that was already completed.
Lastly, I will be holding an official practice session at some point this week. I’m still trying to work out a time I’m available, but this will happen and I’ll announce it around a day in advance at latest. It is by no means required, but if you want an idea how your car stacks up against everyone else, want to practice driving in traffic, or have no plans and are bored, I highly recommend joining in. If we have enough people or everyone just wants to test it, we can use the Discord server as well.
That’s all for now! Hope to see you on Sunday.

with a 6pm Eastern start time, that’s midnight in France, so it’ll be a night race?

No. I guess I should have specified but when I said real world conditions I was referring to day vs. rain. Mostly due to the fact that a rain and night race can’t happen simultaneously in Forza.

OK then. I won’t practice night then.
Though I’m not sure if I’m going to be able to make it. Sunday is Father’s day, so I’ll be with my dad and my kids for most of the day.

Fair enough. Hopefully you’ll be able to make it but if not you have good reason.

Hey Corey! Have so SO many Kinja accounts but ran last year in GT and would love to participate in this year’s race. XBL theonealetta. I’m having a little trouble getting the 427 to the specified weight, any tips? I’ll check the most recent builds and keep tweaking. Thanks, and look forward to seeing you guys on Sunday.

When you said the 427 you mean the Corvette? And did you get it worked out?

I’m running high 4:01s, will probably be low 4:01s by race day. If you’re struggling for time, mess with gearing. A final drive of 2.20 is what I’d recommend for this track. Should probably only use gears 1-5 in the Shelby as well because TORQUE.

Mess around on gearing and should make a huge difference. Also I expect the average time to be closer to a 4:03.
